Welcome to Functional Movement Solutions

Congratulations on earning the distinction of certification as a functional movement screen specialist.  This commitment represents a desire to observe and improve fundamental movement patterns.  This awareness will lay the foundation in the training of your athletes or clients.  By now you have executed and scored several Functional Movement Screens.  You may also have noticed that asymmetries exist in the presence of mobility and stability issues.  Currently the Functional Movement Screen serves a purposeful role in evaluation of your people.  However, you are not satisfied in remaining status quo and you know that solutions exist for correcting asymmetrical patterns and improving mobility and stability challenges.  You may also have an interest in keeping accurate records of your population.  This is why we at Functional Movement have created Functional Movement Solutions which is a direct link from the Functional Movement website. 

Upon entering your username and password you will enter into the solutions automatic corrective exercise builder and database warehouse.  This program has limited the time it takes deciding who should receive which corrections for specific movement pattern challenges.  We have created a user friendly site that is easily managed.  Feel free to click on the tutorial to guide you through this process.  Once you have completed a Functional Movement Screen with a first time client or athlete you will enter in some quick biographical information on that person followed by the scores achieved on each test.  The clearing exams are noted with a negative test if they are pain free.  (As always if your client or athlete reports pain on any test including the clearing exams they should immediately be referred to an appropriate medical professional).  Once the score is submitted with a simple click of the mouse a prescribed set of myofascial stick work, self-stretching, partner stretching and corrective exercise will be available for immediate printing in PDF format.  Additionally, a viewable workout screen showing exercise names with pictures and descriptions is listed.  These corrections are best served as the foundation to be executed on the front end of an existing exercise program.  We would like to improve patterning before embarking on the next level of training.  As you continue to retest you then enter the new Functional Movement Screen Score and progress to the next set of necessary corrections.    

The more data that is entered about your clients and athletes into Functional Movement Solutions the more you will continue to build an original database for evaluation.  At your leisure you can then generate original reports based on assigned queries.  This opens the door for self-study of your population by individual or group.  Categories such as rate of improvement on the Functional Movement Screen, pattern mistakes common to a particular sport or population, or any number of correlations are possible.
